Impulse won't install

During the installation process of Impulse there is some kind of error that interupts it. The installer says:

The Setup Wizard for Impulse has failed: "The system cannot find the file specified". Please check your settings and try again.

What settings?!?!?!

No matter how many times I try, I am presented with the same error. I tried using the System Configuration utility to disable services and start up items but that didn't help. I disabled my virus scanner (Avast Home Edition) and it still didn't work. Another program called Eraser that also uses the InstalWare Wizard gives me the exact same message no matter what I do so I think it has something to do with that.

I am running Vista Business 64 and it is fully updated.

Strange, I don't remember anyone posting about something like this. You should probably send an email to [email protected] or at least post this on the Impulse forum since it isn't Sins-specific. Maybe someone in the community will have an idea.

The message your getting means that Impulse is having trouble connecting to our servers. This can be caused by extra 'security' apps, like SpyBot, AdAware and the like.

Even some anti-virus applications can have their own 'spybot' functions, and Firewall settings.

Check your system (SysTray) for any of these 'watcher' type programs and try to turn them off, then launch
Impulse, and watch the bottom left of the window, when it is done connecting, you won't see any text there,
and you should then be able to access.
