Just got sins last night, looks like a fun game. My problem is this: I run Comodo for a firewall and Sins and Comodo don't seem to get along at all. Whenever I try to play with Comodo turned on, the splash screen for Sins comes up fine. I click play and the screen goes black and stays that way. Can't alt-tab out, alt-f4 does nothing. Just sits there. The CPU/Memory monitor on my keyboard (G15 Gaming Keyboard with an LCD screen, one of the things it can display is CPU/Memory load) indicates the machine is idling. So, it's basically sitting there doing nothing.
After trying several other things (none of which helped), I finally decided to try turning Comodo off. And hey, the game started working as soon as I did that. So, apparently, there's some sort of incompatibility there. I have Sins set as a trusted application (which means Comodo should basically ignore anytyhing it tries to do and let everything happen) but that didn't help. Sins still won't run at the same time as Comodo.
Obviously, I feel sort of nervous about bringing my firewall down for an extended period of time. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Anything I've tried so far is a bust.
Thanks!
