Interface Inconvenience

Some features dont always work the way you would expect.

Example : Stack ability execute.

Selecting a stack of 10 units and clicking the ability button will only activate the top of stack units ability.

Should Shift_click or shift_tab_click not then ripple to next in stack for all units in current stack?

Example :

The empire tree (unit selection block on the left of the main interface)

When you have anything selected in the tree, it should not move the focus away from whatever is selected.

It is practically impossible to micro a fleet and select targets/units in the empire tree when its jumping around like a junkie on E

Example :

Stack attack orders

Same as with ability execute, When Shift_click or shift_tab_click the basic attack should be attack/target units in current stack focusfire FALSE

Example :

Random maps

Maps should have the option for amount and type of starting planets/recources. You can manually change these settings as they are in plain txt format. Changing them in game would be so much more usefull

Any other things you might have come across, post it here. Some suggestions might be easy to do and benifit the game as a whole. Some might already been done or have always worked. If you dont ask you wont know.

Regarding the stacks, it's mostly just a visual thing to compress the empire tree. They only allow selection by clicking on the stack, not queueing orders/ability use. It's been long suggested that at least right clicking on an enemy stack would queue the attack orders for all the ships in it, but IC has responded that they're concerned about a memory usage spike if they do allow hundreds of ships (potentially) to be queued with a few clicks.

Yes, that does make sense. Easy to fix, only allow max activations as 10 per mouse click.

How about this then - When alt_clicking one kind of ship, all ships of the same type are selected. Attacking/targeting a ship with alt_click should target all of same type.

This will fail though if it doesnt have a 10 target max. Targeting 142 illuminators will not produce the requiered result.

*edit* I mean any 10 or closest 10 to target like an AoE ability. The empire tree will update itself as the units are destroyed and arrange the remaining numbers neatly
