Entrenchment in 2 Days?

Currenly the relase date for Entrement according to Impulse is the January te First.

I would like to know whether or not this is a place holder date or the real release date/

I don't think its the real relase date but one can hope }:)

The store date is a placeholder :P

Consider whether Stardock cares about the quality of their products, and then think what is the financial net worth of the Sins franchise.

And yeah, reputable sources claim Entr still needs a bit of work to make it just right.

I don't think there is ANY way it's comming out on the first.  The beta still has quite a few dings to bang out.  And the more of a polished product they release in Entrenchment, the more they are likely to sell the next 2 Micro-Expansions.

I'd guesstimate more Feburaryish.

I'm gonna put my money on March, actually, but I have no real reason for doing so.  :)

And for what it's worth...Sins, and Entrenchment, are Ironclad's, not Stardock's.

I've played Entrenchment and it needs tweeks and balancing to improve

the overall feel of the addon .. March .. sounds like a good time frame.

Can't they just program in the words placeholder or TBA in the place of the date instead of issueing fake placeholder dates? Better yet if they couldn't program it put the date as Feburary 31st. :p But then again maybe its a marketing ploy to get the unknowing public into pre-ordering.

Feburary 31st.

BTW StarDock Make sure your Impulse doesn't register Entrenchment as a new game and require us who payed for the beta to pay again XD

I've been looking at it and that would be a big NO NO

Then they could just give you a negative charge on your CC, so you end up paying only once. Would be a bit of a mess, though :-)

I reckon that there will be another beta, or at least a major update, before release.  A lot of bugs/imbalances were found and a lot of good suggestions were made.

They're likely to only give us a few days warning as usual :)

There are still some major problems with the multiplayer game - mainly the constant dsynching (and inability to brin the game back into synch) and also the silly bug where you end up with negative values in your cash, crystal and metal funds.

Will be great once they've sorted it all out though :)

I'd expect one as well, and plan to join the beta when the next update comes about. A lot of feedback has been submitted already, so it's better for me just to keep playing the regular as I'm pretty new to it still.

Well, Happy New Years everybody, I just purchased Entrenchment (because the release date was today) and got the beta.  Great.  Word of advice, if your looking for the final product, it doesn't look like it's coming out today, despite what it says.

It's been said a million times: January 1st was a placeholder date.

It's been recommended that they change it to a different date, or to TBA, but for some reason that hasn't been done.

I guess I'm playing the beta then, version 0.91.002 on a 64 bit version of Vista.

We should have a new channel for entrenchment.

Here are some observations: Vasari are way overpowered with movable starbases, and (primarily) endless mine deployment. I played Hyperions Gates as a Vasari and by the time I had conquored my section of the galaxy, only Vasari factions were still alive. I had to jump in to planet Porta with all ships in Hold Position mode, and send a backup fleet of five hold positioned scouts to clear the mines. It took about 2 hours game time to clear all the enemy mines. It took longer (and an entire fleet) to discover this strategy.

I think all starbases should be able to move about the gravity well, and something needs to be done about Vasari mine deployment (although I'm not sure what). It's still fun, though.

Some other errors are that sometimes the fleet leader (alone) jumps when you tell the fleet to jump. Also, the "jump as group" and "go ahead and jump already" arrow toggle doesn't seem to do anything?!? The way I found around this was to zoom out to planet view, right click the planet to go to, wait for the audio confirmation, and right click again. It seems telling the fleet twice to jump generally gets it in their little Vasari brains....

The other major problem is the game crashes when trying to load a saved game. The solution is to close the program, run the program again, and load the saved game from scratch. It's a minor anoyance that can greatly escalate if you're trying to jump into a gravity well and not loose 966 ship points worth of ships to Vasari mines.

That's it for my initial observations. All in all, grat expantion. Thanks.

If the starbase range issue is fixed, moving starbases become less useful.

It's trying to bomb/colonize, and that's taking precedence over a move order.  Already reported, and hopefully this will be fixed ASAP.  If you zoom in and click on the gravity well, you can avoid it, though.

With all the sugestions people are making mabey they are actually going to put them into account. And make entrenchment extactly what the generally census wants it to be. that and fix all bugs and unbalances will take some time :\

Yes, but I went off the Impulse page for the release date.  So I'm still irked by it, because I shouldn't have to check the forums to know when the real release date is when there's a release date on the store page.

Thanks Sole Soul

I have just completed implosion as a Advent and it wasn't too bad. Still, some mine-ridden planets, but Advent mines aren't as fast as Vasari mines. For some reason my "random" opponents consisted of 6 Advent, 2 Vasari, 0 TEC. The Vasarri I wiped out early. I think the biggest unbalanced gameplay issue at this point is that "militaristic" AI's build mines, and trader AI's get wiped out early. Just a preliminary observation.

Now I'm going to try playing TEC again. this time on a big map like Arolen Sector.

From what I heard about the current state of the Beta, I think aproving Blizzard mantra might be a good diea for this one!
