Okay, this is potentially pretty game breaking. Who's bright idea was it to make this new skybox look so damned good? Seriously, I spend more time twisting the camera around gawking at the skybox than I do focusing on, you know, managing things.
Loses precious ships, I tell you. Please fix!

P.S. I play with skyboxes off so I have no clue how pretty it is 
The purple one is very nice - my fiance actually walked over while i was getting gang raped by 3 hard AI's to say "the sky is pretty"

Yeah I know first time i saw it i was holy mother of a turd. It is quite awesome. Wish their was an option to make only that skybox show up.

Just a few angles.. it's very highly detailed all around, you can rotate the camera every which way and it looks great

Wow that's hawt. I'm totally loving it. Haven't seen it around in any of my games yet unfortunatly.

It "is" very very pretty isn't it? I adore it too!! But Annatar is right, this causes like "Major" accidents, why i was building like 12 scouts and anti-fighter vessels, and watching the skybox, tilting the camera around to like you know, get the most beautiful.... and then what do you know? I'm in the hospital ship, sirens whining and i've got like a 12 on 12 pile-up with scout parts everywhere, it was a horrible sight!!! Just too much to bear. Well, now i play with sunglasses, and casts of course, and im pretty fine, i dont notice all the pretty purple anymore.
But one time i almost lost my glasses when i leaned over to fix the display and almost had another accident. Well, next week im getting like one of these old filter screens and placing it in front of the monitor. Then we'll be okie.

If you go into "User Interface" or "Effects" (I always forget which one), and check/uncheck the "Use Colored Skyboxes" option repeatedly, it will cycle through the various backgrounds. Pause the game and enjoy the view.
It would be nice to have the skyboxes cycle through each color so we could choose the one we like.
Just my two cents, but i like the red alot, and the green is peaceful, and the purple is to die for!!!
It would be nice to choose, and maybe i will try the cheating!! Haha, as long as i get the purple or red or green i will be happy!!
