Frigates with Fighter Physics?

AS I was playing around creating a MOD based on David Webers Honor Harrington series... it suddenly struck me that it is possible to make LACs (Light Attack Craft).

Seems you CAN create a Squadron with One fighter, then create a Bomber entity using a Frigate Mesh, and basic frigate stats.  It can't have shields, or Abilities, but it does fly around like a fighter.

Neat thing is that each Cap ship, Carrier, or Defense Platform can have two Squad Entities attatched to it (one fighter, one bomber), but they DON'T have to be the same entities as other Spawn Platforms...

So, I now have a Cap ship that Spawns LACS (Frigates), while retaining the ability to field regular Fighters, and Bombers, using other Cap ships and Carriers...

Still have not done the HUD icons yet, and I'm using the Tech Light Frigate Mesh (too large, but I'm not a 3d Modder, want somthing about 1/3 that size for a LAC), and I"m still playing around with the map icon (shows a bomber squadron, want it to show as a frigate...) but it seems the experiment has been succesful.

If it helps im an experinced 3d modeler and can offer my assistence, I could you the practice, and I think it would be fun comming up with entirly new ships all together, just shoot me a message with the file format it needs to be in, I can do just about all of them. :grin:

Now my question is on a similar topic is it possible to do kind of the opposite. give strike craft the ability to fire from a fixed position like a frigate but still be able to move like a fighter to avoid being shot down. this is how I dogfight in zero g games why not let the computer do it. Eternal Silence, Battlestar galactica, every space themed Anime.

no fighter fly around and dog fight

frigate are static and fire

you can make fighter wit frigate stats and look and the oposite but for now it's if the entity is writen fighter or frigate that determine if your unit dog fight or not
