Colored text frame rate drop

Seems to be a drastic drop in my frame rate whenever colored text, both in the form of messages from AI and tooltips, appears. I've had this issue since I first purchased the game when it came out. I stowed away my game waiting for a fix and eventually forgot I had it. Recently installed and up to date, the game has the same darn issue.

I even read on the forums that it's been resolved! What is going on with my game then?

My specs are:

nVidia 8800GTX 768MB

Q6600 2.4GHz

2GB RAM

Windows XP

Anyone have an idea of what could fix this problem of mine?

I have the issue as well still, far fewer people have it now than used to before the fix, but there's still a post here or there of someone else who has it.
