I love Sins as a Space RTS and not long ago I played a predecessor of it that I considered to be fanatastic.
Haegemonia was a great game but it had a few problems. Hoaegemonia had a spying engine. They were about the same size and speed as an Arcova scout frigate. When detected however the AI would always send their spies cascading off on the z axis into the distance so far up at such a speed no ship could catch it.
Now I've noticed in Sins enemy forces are far more willing to retreat in Entrenchment when I have equal forces or lesser forces but the defences of a planet. However although I have not replicated this reliably. Twice I have seen a scout (once in an allied system) fly up the screen on the z axis so when viewed Horizontally it was impossible to see. Now while I see the AI using the Z axis as an option I think this could be a serious problem if someone is forced to send off precious forces on an impossible chase just to guarantee the enemy cannot see the gravity well.
My second point is that I have seen the enemy and I have replicated this myself dropping. If you are to make a drop lower on the z axis below the gravity well enemy mines cannot see you it seems and so you can slip right under them. The AI doesn't seem aware of this however it does often inadvertently get ships through my fields due to this.
These are two points I recommend are fixed and noted.
