Custom Maps and Artifact Amounts.

Yes i did a search

I am building a custom map and i think i have the right amount of stars for me and a small game.

I have 12-18 planets. I cant seem to find a function to add the number of artifacts to the map.

I am not talking placing them i just mean setting a random number to be generated on the map.

I seem to recall a long time ago we could enter the amount of artifacts we would have on a custom map but that would be way back when.

You can set how many there are, but you can set the precent chance of finding one.

When you open a map in galaxy forge click on the blace space and then look for an item called for the line labled "artifact density" under the galaxy heading.

You can set it from 0-100% meaning that every planet will have an artifact at 100% and half will at 50%.

Granted, setting it to 100 and then having like 50 planets will give you alot of artifact doubles.

Or you can simply open the galaxy file in a text ediror and change the line from there. It's the 8th line down and usually reads:

planetArtifactDensity 0.150000

The galaxy file is located in the sins local settings file, e.g.

C:\Documents and Settings\"your username"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy

It would be cool if there was some sort of slider actually in the game rather than having to mess about in program files or galaxy forge

this would help greatly because not every one uses forge

End of Tony_T's quote

In Windows 7 it's:

C:\Users\"your username"\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\MapDesigner  (for the galaxy forge files)

and

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy  (for the built-in ones)
