Question with AI's and Pirates

I've been playing sins off and on for about a year, and after fighting off 2 hard AIs with and ally, i've decided to lock teams and fight off 3 AI'S alone on a ramdom medium map. After about half hour of playing, I begin to worry a bit about the pirates. No, they are attacking me, but the bounty always seems to go to the AI on the other side of the map. This worrienow i'm facing with 2 empire at my borders clamoring over choke points with me on the losing side. It seems as both AIs are using their full fleet, while mine is split to cover 2 fronts. 8C I think that the other AI was so weakened so much that it isn't considered a threat, though my scout have yet to comfirm it. Another pirate raid is imminate, should i change the pattern? Any advice would be welcomed.

I'm not sure what you are trying to get at but if you think that the pirates are attacking one empire and they are fully weakned, I would recommending its time to get rid of that empire. Send your fleet with a colinizer and just bomb colinize:grin: .

what i do if i have the resources is boost one of the other teams but if you're fighting on 2 fronts then you more than likely are pretty strapped.

What I would recromend is fortify a choke point with turrets and fighter/bomber ships and move the rest of your fleet out to bypass their main force and destroy some of their research and culture building that usually pisses them off enough to wherere they try to chase you - if you're lucky you can make one big circle and hit both of the other 2 AI's

often times if you can get both of their fleets together it becoems one big blood bath - and you can escape and rebuild while they kill each other.

or they might just throw the pirates at you too :/

Thx for some of the advise. But what's my main problem is that the weakened empire is on the other side of the star system, meaning to get to that empire, i have to go through another, what I'm asking is whether or not to spend some credits to put bounty on the other AIs. Sort of a silly question, but i want to know. I'm playing as vasari if that's any help.

then I'd say find where the two strong empires' fronts meet, and hit one of each of their planets.  the AI will always break off any attack to rescue their planets, as long as they have some form of sizeable force.  I would suggest pitting the AIs against each other with bounty. (i.e. place a decent sum on each, to start a bidding war between them.

another idea is to use an extremely strong counterattack.  as soon as you fight off an attack, follow that fleet until you have destroyed a sizable portion, including the caps.  then race back to your territory, in case you have to defend against another attack.  the counterattack will buy you plenty of time, and will allow you to deal with them one at a time.  if you can, narrow it down to one chokepoint each, and stay on the offensive.  the way the AI is set up, it will not try a diversionary attck to pull your forces away, so if you are attacking somewhere, they won't attack you.

Put bounty on the further AI and send ya fleet to the other AI.

Also, build as many hangars and turrets on the attacked (or eventually next-to-be-attacked) planets and that's it.

On the other side, if you don't have enough resources to build aditional reinforcements,

You are F**cked!

Whoops, forgot the quote! >_> sorry about that.

you only got one Jarrasul?  always get two.  always.  it lets you decimate fleeing fleets, having alternating gravity warheads.

Thx! I was finally able to reverse the tide against 1 AI and cleared one of IT'S planet (unfortunately, my colonizing cap is on the other front and is taking it's dandy time getting to te other front), but  i'm still questionable on the other front. The map is also structured as the central star prevents any mutual fronts (meaning each empire so far has 2 and only 2 fronts) As 4 the bounty stratigy, i knew about it and tried once, to no avail. School's starting up again, so i'm not quite sure when i could finish that campaign. (Too many other activities going on)

That's probably a good idea for this situation. I admit I haven't truely encounted a real 2 front problem this early before, i never though about a second space egg untl late game. :-"

I was the same - my first cap was space egg, and the rest were pure combat ships.  I learned the lesson of the second Jarrasul the hard way - against a chicken TEC fleet that would not stop running whenever I put one ship in its grav well.  now it's space egg - Devastator -space egg, in that order.  I always max my cap usage, eliminate theirs, and love using the Volatile Nanites+Phase Missile Swarm combo.  their fleets are simply devastated.

ended up finishing a game within an hour using my 1-2-3 punch of caps i mentioned first.
