Sound Pops/Fuzz, Sound Issues

Hello, I really love this game but the music and sounds become grabled the longer I play. Usually it starts with just some pops and fuzz now and then, but gradually turns into full blown distortion and make the game unbearable. I've updated my sound card drivers to the newest version available (Creative Labs X-Fi Gamer) but to no avail. Re-installed the game, no dice same prob. Adjusted sound hardware in dxdiag nothing worked there either. I'm currently using XP SP2, and have absolutely no problems with any of the other games I play. Seems strange to me, anyone got any clues?

I have the exact same problem.  It doesn't happen with any other program, just Sins.  Anyone have any ideas?

I have the same problem as well, and its only EVER Sins that does it. It used to be TERRIBLE for me, I'm not sure why but it doesn't happen as often as it used to (maybe because of updates?) but is still very annoying when it does. Now it could potentially be sound card updates, which seems to be the blanket response; when I first got the game I NEVER had an issue with sound, it was only up until the last couple of updates and running mods that it happened.

I had the same problem with Sins on this old computer I'm using temporarily (Pentium 4 2.4GHz, 1GB RAM, 128MB Radeon 9200).  What I did to fix it was to first update the Realtek AC97 drivers, but I also turned down the DirectSounds Acceleration from Full to Basic.  Since then, sound has been fine.  Try to make sure either the drivers are up-to-date, turn down the DirectSound Acceleration, or both.
