What Other Space Games Do People Like?

It is not that i dont like Sins, because i think its Great and really really enjoy it, but wanted to look at some others, just for the sake of variety. I was hoping people could list the ones they like and why and it would give me some that maybe i havent heard of before to take a look at.

Teal, it will run perfectly on your system (if you have XP), the requirements aren't very high but the graphics are still great (as good as, if not better than Sins, in my opinion).  You can purchase it from Gamersgate for 14.99:

After a short search, I haven't been able to find it anywhere else.  Make sure to update to 1.09, if you decide to get it.

Ahhhh... Star Wars!!!   I used to play the Old KOTOR games several years ago, and tried the Galaxies Onlines as well, haha, it was addicting, i almost couldnt give it up. I would like to try it again, but this sounds silly, but haha, im not sure i can afford the addiction.   :)  But i loved them and the Jedi Knight Academy games as well, it was soooooo neat getting that light saber in your fingers, you know?...   :)   Haha, <echoing voice:  Okie Darth Vad.... Time to.... D...I...E...>  haha, it was great!!  Thank you for the reminder of old memories, it was great!!

I thought Haegemonia was horrible graphics? All the starships look like blocks?

As for star wars empire at war - what a piece of junk. No 3D plane means it mayaswell be called land battles EAW.

I mean sins can be excused because of the massive nature of the game, but SWEAW has smaller levels than homeworld and yet goes backwards in features!

I'll always remember the old VGA Planets fondly.  It was a pretty cool game for its time, and I recall it being really stable for an independent game of such complexity.  Sadly, the new version of the game never got finished.  I guess the developer just couldn't find the time for it anymore.

I still play Birth of the Federation a lot, even though it's 10 years old now.  If you like the idea of a Star Trek strategy game, then you would do well to find a copy.  :D

Probably have a few more but can't think of them right now.

Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption: Phoenix Rising mod. Try the skirmish. It's amazing.

 

Homeworld 2: Complex mod

Going to finally try out the Warlords mod as well.

I have fond memories of the old Wing Commander, X-Wing, and TIE Fighter games, but haven't had them for years.
