More then 2 on the same serial

First off, if this is askd previously sorry for beating the dead horse,  secondly I didnt see a better place to ask this

so here I am.  Now, my brother shares my copy of sins so we can play over our lan, and including laptops theres 6 computers here.  Its my understanding that you can only use the same serial on 2 comps over Lan but occasionaly a cousin/friend comes over and wants to play aswell.  Unfortunatly some dont have a computer or want to spend money on a copy cause they dont like strategies et cetera....  So my question would be is there any way to purchase more serials or something of that nature without shelling out antoher 30$ so we can get a good sized lan game going

As far as I know - you get one serial per purchase...

Playing lan you can hook up as many copy's of the game as you can find network space for, from a single copy.

To update the game to 1.12 and beyond plus the ability to play online, you must have a serial key for each copy you want to use. This is only fair to the people that created this game and anything else is just piracy.

But im not looking to pirate or rip any one off, im just looking to play a free for all without spending 120$.  To quote the manual "If you have a LAN setup, you can play Sins of a Solar Empire on upto two connected machines using the same serial number."  Now, unless I missed something in an update or im just not understanding right that means im limited to 1v1 with my copy.  Id have no problem shelling out 5$ or something to add another player and while I realize this argument might not hold water considering im going to compare an apple to an orange, I only need one copy of supersmash brothers or whathaveyou to get a group game going.

Well, it's unlikely that men in suits will break down your door if you have 3-4 people LANing (as long as the game's uninstalled after it's all said and done). If you're trying to do a big LAN party, though, they'd probably have issue with that :P

You can lan plenty of people on the same copy, the limitation comes into play after the party is over.

If player 2 and/or 3/4/5/6 (assuming you are player 1) want to keep the game, update or play online after the lan. Then you have to shell out for the serial.

When playing lan, all you need is to have everybody on V1.05 and it should work just fine. One copy would be all you need in this instance. It wont even request the serial :dur:

Please choose the honest route and respect the 2-copies-per-serial rule.

I'd suggest emailing sales and asking if you can get just an extra serial number or two for cheap.

How many friends do you have that play? Get them and your brother to spit the cost so for a new copy. That way you and your brother can play online and you can have 2 other guests LAN with you as well :D

Alright, just got in, first off I havnt even tried using LAN with more then 2 people as I just assumed it wouldnt work, so the next time someones over ill try crows.  Secondly Hack, the problem comes down to the people in question except maybe one of them who already has it wouldnt buy there own copy because as sad as it is, there computers are nothing more then internet/MS word boxes, my flatscreen sony downstairs has more processing power then some.  Trust me iv tried geting those of them that could run it to get there own copy to no avail.  And were not talking a fullblown lan party im talking 4 people on average.
