Can I install Galactic Civ 2 on my laptop for road gaming and still get updates with the same serial key?

Or should I just use it on my laptop without entering the key?

I have it installed and registered on my desktop and I don't want to mess anything up by using the same key on my laptop if I'm not allowed.
