Worried about Purchasing

or: How well will I run it?

Alright, sorry for posting this, but its mainly the one thing thats keeping me from buying the game (currently running the demo).

My computer just meets the minimum system requirements (1.8 Ghz Processor, 1 gb RAM, 128 mb Video Card), and I'm able to run the galaxies in the demo just fine. What I'm worried about is how I'll be able to run the game if I start playing larger galaxies (which I'd really like to do), or once the big fleets turn up.

Also, the requirements also lists that it needs a DirectX 9 Video Card, yet I've been running the game on a 128 mb Radeon 9000, which I believe is DirectX 8.1. Would I be correct in assuming that if I'm able to (somehow) run it now, it will be fine if it stays at the same settings?

The full game should perform similarly to the demo at the same settings, though if you're at the low end you may want to hold off on the really big games until you can upgrade.
