Modding ???????

i am still new to sins, i just learned about the mods what are, what do they do? do you download a mod  to upgrade your sins like an update? it's all chinese to me right now.

Mods are user created content to change, add, or remove gameplay, graphics, sound, or anything else that can be changed. Some mods change just a couple of things while some are almost a whole new game.

Mods should be downloaded, unzipped, and placed in:

Vista:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods

Please note these directories may be Hidden by default. To unhide them, go to your Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View and set yourself to view hidden files and folders.

Once there, go to the Options menu in the game, and click on Mods. You'll need to select the mod and enable it, then it should work.

Make sure to update your game, as version 1.00 doesn't have all the options, and most mods are made for versions 1.05 or 1.12. Most mods won't work with a version other than the one they were designed for.
