Desync: Unable to complete a single game with friends. Frustrating....

I have been having desyncs when I play Sins of an Empire.  As a matter of fact, I am pretty fet up now because I have had a desync with every single game that I have played.  I have four other friends that also have Sins, and we have played at least a dozen times with different combinations of the five of us.  Every single time, it is only me that desyncs.  At some point during the game, there will be a conversation of "wow.  you are getting hammered on this planet" or "please help me with this planet."  The response will be "what are you talking about?"  I guess I don't have to explain the desync problem.  But at this point I am disgusted because it has happened every single time.  In the end I always tell them to just go ahead and finish the game without me.  Oh, and after we notice the desync, I will inevitably get a mini-dump somewhere down the road.

So, here is the only thing that I have found that might apply to us.  All four of my friends have a typical intel PC.  Their operating systems are mixed with Windows XP and Vista.  I, on the otherhand, use Windows XP through BootCamp on an Apple iMac.  I guess that's a pretty huge difference in hardware.  As I mentioned, I am the only one to ever desync, so I lean towards thinking that my iMac is the issue.  I have not seen anybody mention anything about Apple computers running Windows, so I am on the verge of giving up.

If there is anyone out there that can possibly offer any advice or any help, I would be ever grateful.  I really like this game and enjoy what I can play with my friends, but I really would like to play a game to completion with them.

Thank you.

Any word on further known sync errors?

My friends and I have been suffering this since Entrenchment came out; or more specifically just me. We'll get about 2+ hours into a game and suddenly I'll start seeing different things than they do. The first time this happened was actually pretty comical "What do you mean your starbase is dead? It's right here!!" But now it's just bothersome bordering on disheartening since we know we can't ever finish a game. Or at least not one that I'm part of.

There is a group of about 6 of us that play together regularly in different configurations, and I can't say for certain that this happens 100% of the time. It has definitely happened in every large-scale game we've tried (4+ players). But I will pass on the information contained in this thread regarding the user.settings changes so we can generate logs, then send you the results when a desync happens.

We all run the game on Intel-based PC's as far as I know (though I will check on this),

Any info and/or soothing words like, "there there, Ironclad will take care of you, little gamer" would be most appreciated. I miss the game already... :(

Don't worry. IC will fix it if you send them the logs and all will be well in the Sins universe again...

There. Happy?

Poor little gamer.....

Yeah, the stuff said earlier in this post (like the settings for your user.setting file to detect desyncs) still holds. Send in those checksums and they will try to find it.

I've contacted my group and we're going to try and organize a game either tonight or tomorrow to see if we can get a record of this happening.

Does it sound right that only certain players would be affected by this? I've read through both linked devlogs, but I'll admit it's somewhat over my head. Just wondering.

well, my friend and I play every once in a while, we've only desynched once.  The other times we weren't able to finish were due to updates...

Yes and no.  Yes because that's a (frequent) trend with a lot of bugs (for reasons no one has ever been able to discover, as far as I know); no because you'd expect people with the same hardware / software setup to get the same issues.
