How do youget the mod to work?

I'm new and I've been having trouble getting mods to work.

I always put the mod into the Ironclad Games Mods folder, but when I startup Sins it isn't in the mods section in options.

Please tell me if I'm forgetting a step or if I'm not putting the mod in the right place.

Maybe the mod is incompatible... But then it should be visible at least, but produce a minidump on load. Maybe the mod folder has a sub folder where the actual mod files are. It has to be \Local Settings\AppData\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods\MODNAME\NOTHING MORE\
