Beta uninstall process

argh game uninstall Issue

Hello,

Ok I had the beta version and the normal game. I was told to update to lastest beta version, but i saw no option for that. So I clicked the beta version in Impulse and hit uninstall but it uninstalled the beta version and the whole game from impulse. But if i check the add roemove programs of vista game is still installed, and the folders are full still. Yet impulse says none are installed now.

Should i just run install from Impulse again and will it overwrite the files? Or should I uninstall from Windows add remove section then install again?

Thanks

Or should I uninstall from Windows add remove section then install again?
End of quote

Windows will probably just give you the "this program appears to be already gone, do you just want to remove it from the list?" prompt, but if you'd prefer it out of the list, go ahead.

I used the windows uninstall to remove Sins fully. However Impulse still tells me that Entrenchment is installed and I cannot uninstall it via Impulse due to the XML error everyone reported.

I reinstalled Sins via Impulse - exe is 1.1.3 (aka 1.13) but it crashes when I launch it. I think I just lost my ability to play Sins!!!

Hello,

Well i had ininstaled the beta using impulse which seemed to uninstall the full game. But When i clicked the install game again it simply patched it, then i was able to install the new beta.

So far so good just really strange not to have an update button in my view. But I love the game so I don't mind as long as i can play.

Hi,

Hack i have the same problem, updated game to 1.13 and then copied into another dir, so i could play 1.13.    also updated to beta 2.

something went wrong somewhere so i uninstalled sins. but for some reason entranchment won't uninstall.

now i've installed 1.13 and i can't get entrechment to download from impulse bucause it says its installed, which it isn't. i deleted everything.

can anyone help.. thanks

Mine is the opposite - I can't get RID of Entrenchment from the Impulse menu("There is an error in XML document(28,8).)".

I fully removed Sins via Windows uninstall, and selected just the Sins install in Impulse to get 1.13 and it STILL thinks Entrenchment is installed (technically it is since I copied the folder so I could have a copy of Beta2 on my system, similar to how I updated to 1.12, copied it and then patched to Beta 1 last time)

Aaarrrrggghhhhh - I need my MP fix!!!!

I'm having a 1.13 and Entrenchment ... what would you call it? Misunderstanding? I had 1.12, and i have mods for it, so i wanted to save it, so i copied it over to my d: drive. then updated the 1.12 on c: which of course is the original folder. So it updated. Then i added Entrenchment and it downloaded and installed fine. Then i launched Entrenchment. It looked very good, with touch ups on the ships and nicely tuned ships and ui behavior, the best yet!!

Then i went to d: and launched 1.13, but when it loaded it said Entrenchment!

So i thought maybe vista is loading from memory, it caches "everything!". So i shut down and started up again.

Went to d: and launched 1.13, but it still loads as Entrenchment. So i think the copy is for backup, not to have to dl again, but as for playing both versions, Entrenchment on c: and 1.13 on d:? It wont do it.  :(  Anyone know how to run each version separately? So as to have 1.13 and my old mods, and the new Entrenchment beta 2 with the nice touches?

Hopefully,

-Teal

1.13 and beta2 get combined in download - hence I want to know how to seperate them by removing entrenchment which Impulse won't allow
