[Bug Maybe] TEC autocannons sound different

I dont know if this is a bug or not but the all the autocannons on TEC, militia and pirates sound different. They sound like someone took out all of the bass and mid range sound out of the shots. Right now they sound sort of like raindrops being fired instead of bullets.

If this was done on purpose I prefer the previous sound because it sounded more realistic. (not that sound would travel in space):P

I rather like the new sound effect for the autocannons.

I think the new sound is great for the light and regular autocannons but I say the ones with heavy autocannons, i.e.: Kodiak, Akkan, should keep the old sound to make that attack sound stronger.

Seconded.  The new sounds are fine for the flak frigate or the colony frig, though.

Well, i think Heavy Autocannons should be Replaced by good old HEAVY FCKN CANNONS.

 

You know, HEAVY CANNONS. The Thing with BIG Barrels that shoot BIG grenade like things - possibly with nukes attached to them - at Other peoples ships. And Yes Cannons work in space ,expanding gas is expanding gas. How you make it expand is a matter for the handvavium to discuss.

 

You could also do rails guns. Railsguns are back in sci-fi  after the rather sudden demise of lasers and Energy Weapons.

Autocannons come with the problem that the bullet can't be too big, or the whole rapid fire thing won't be doable anymore.  So in big honking spaceship combat they are like pea shooters, yes big pea shooters but still pea shooters in comparison to what is possible.

Instead of having virtualy EVERY major tec ship fire bullet storms of peas id like some REALY HoNKING BIG FAT CANNONS that will GUT the target and instead of doing lots of small holes do ONE BIG FAT hole, running trough the ship.

 

 

 

TEC Combat simply looks... unspectacular. Itrs boring. Steady yes, but boring.

I posted this in an otehr thread. I like the new sounds beter because their clear and crisp. Now i can even hear the gunfire from fighters were as before you could barely. The old sounds were muffled and choked. But the new sounds do all sound like a .22 caliber shot witch is not very impresive and needs work. But i don'T want to go back to the old barely audiable sounds.

Also I"M SO (South Park Style) GODDAM TIRED OF THE THE MARZA SOUND PLAYING. EVEN WITH NOTHING CAUSING IT.

The new sounds remind me of WW2-era submachine guns from all the war games. It's not bad, just takes a little getting used to :P

My favorite "autocannon" sound is still from MechWarrior 3 :P

I think that for some of the ships the old sounds are better.

Especially for the TEC and pirate SUV and the capital ships. the new sounds are too light. These ships fire heavy guass cannons not light anti fighter ones.

On the other hand now I like the new ones better for the flack frigate because they are not as annoying as it was previously.
