i am not sure if this is a bug, but in multiplayer i noticed that my traderoute was not connecting with that of my ally. All planets between us had my or his tradeports.
The 'white' line is not going to his planets, and my income did not increase when we closed the gap.

traderoutes only apply to your empire.
it has always been this way and is not a bug at all.
Are you sure? Playing multi with a friend we always conected our empires and that white line was drawn through both. Maybe that was the bug, eh?

Isn't sharing trade one of the diplomacy options? I never play with unlocked teams so I don't know.
Also what's the verdict on trade routes rarely if ever picking the "longest" chain through your empire?
on beta you can extend your traderoutes into other players territory by building starbases with trade upgrades but that's not what you meant right?
@Caydr: Hm could we just have forgotten to declare trade agreement? But we were playing closed teams, so i thought its automatic. But good hint, need to check that. Thanks.
