KeyBoard not responding

Hi,

for some reason, my game now refuses to recognise keyboard input (pressing keys, nothing happening). Is this something I have done or a known bug?

Yes. The only key that is working is the enter key for chat.

assuming hardware problems it could a ctrl, shift or alt key be jammed down? the quick way to test thisis to tap each of the keys firmly then test the keys agian

When you are in "chat" mode, none of the other keys work as it is processing the key input for the message, not the game...

Yes, I'm aware of that. I am saying that the keys are not working at all outside of chat mode. The weird thing is, I can type in the chat box fine. Outside of chat, no keys are working at all, excpet the enter key to activate chat.

Have tried reinstalling, no help.

Update: turns out it was my ZoneAlarm firewall stopping keys being read by the Sins client /o\

ZA Pro. I disable it now as I don't play online

personally I use the free zonealarm withavast antivirus, and I have had no problems.

another user is using zonealarm security suite and also had problems, so might be one of the more advanced modules in zonealarm pro/suite  that is causing the incompatibility

thank you

One of the features you get with the paid-for version of ZA is "component control". With Sins, you get a warning message "This programme is attempting to monitor activties on this PC, such as mouse clicks, keyboard strokes etc etc". The problem was, Sins would fire up, THEN you would get the message, which you couldn't see because of the black screen. No amount of Alt-Tabbing, ctrl-alt-del'ing would solve it, you had to reboot.

For the guy having problems, you can set ZA to gaming mode; it will ask you if you want to automatically answer all alerts with yes or no. (set to yes for sins) You can also set the Sins client's permissions manually in the programmes list in the ZA menu.

Or you could just turn it off...
