I used to play it before I got a new hard drive. After I swapped out my hard drive, I never reinstalled it because I didn't want Securom to be installed on it (short of reformatting my hard drive, I don't know of any way to get Securom back off once installed). However, this sentence on one of there update announcements has brought me hope that I can once again play this game:
"-Securom protection has been removed, the DVD disk is no longer required in the drive during Single Player play."
This announcement can be read here:

It will be the first line of the new features section.
Since they have removed Securom on the first game, I feel its a safe bet that the complete edition will not have have it either, so there should be nothing to stop me from playing this game again. At least there wouldn't be if I could actually find a copy of World in Conflict: Complete Edition. Wal-mart lists it as coming out in April, Gamestop doesn't list it for preorder in the store (although it is listed to come out on the 16th of March online), and the official game site says that it was supposed to have released on the 10th of March, which was, of course, two days ago. So until some store around here gets it, I will have to wait, although the wait will be very much worth it! Until then, I will enjoy the new trailers released for the game, the Aerial Assault trailer on gametrailers being one of my favorites, second only to the New York CGI with the helicopter assault on Liberty Island.
