On Phaze Stabilization
Reverse engineering, brick walls...
I've observed over the course of playing that vasari gain a huge advantage on large maps, especially single star ones. this is because of their phase stabilizing abilities. Now, i am NOT going to propose that phase nodes be nerfed. this is the vasari's key advantage, and very important to their ability to defend. what i would think would be kinda interesting is if TEC and advent reverse engineered their own, low tech phase stabilizer nodes(vasari did the same with pji's) obviously these would be no where near as efficient (longer jump time?) and maybe even a little more difficult than just building it and leaving it to use. However, i think it is within the capabilites of both races to actually do so. Especially advent, who have no problem with interference when a few hundred psions are remote piloting hundreds of drones...so what's a phase lane or two?
Also, another idea, this one based on other space based games that i have played... a special phase jump inhibitor that damages ships jumping in using a phase stabilizer node (think brick wall made of warped gravity)(i think you can guess what this suggestion is all about) nothing elaborate, just maybe enough to sting a bit, and maybe disabling sub-light engines for a short time, and maybe phase engines for a little longer. and of course this super phase inhibitor would be pricier & a little more complicated. it would be gravity well wide and not effect ships using actually phase lanes. Think of it as more of a destabilizer.
thirdly, can anyone shed some light on the dev's apparent decision to not let vasari share their phase stabilizer nodes?
