Save away patches for later?

Hi,

as far as I can see you can only download patches with the impulse software. This is not exactly my preferred way of doing things but as long as it works, i have no issues with that. I would however like to save the patches i download to some place safe in case Stardock discontinues the service some time in the future. I would hate to stand there with only the plain vanilla version that came on the DVD. Is it possible to put the patches I download somewhere safe and how can I do it?
