TEC Starbase Hull & Antimatter hit

The tec starbase shows a button that says it takes 30% Hull and 100% antimatter when enemy ships phase jump away, and it seems to indicate this can be updated, does anyone know how?

Further whevever I jump into a planet with a starbase, my ships show in red at the bottom of their info card, that they have suffered 30% loss of Hull and 100% of antimatter, but their hull and antimatter is at 100%. I'm confused, can anyone enlighten me.

This means that when you jump out of that grav well, your ships will suffer 30% hull damage and 100% Antimatter loss as long as the Starbase is sitting there to screw with your jumps.

Your Phasejump animation will turn red to show you you just paid a price in hp and am for moving in their without a plan.

So all the starbases have this ability were any enemy ships leaving the gravity well it occupies will suffer 30% hull damage and 100% antimatter loss.  So, jumping in is no problem, jumping out is.

This is intended to cripple all abilities of a fleet that tried to skip a front line defense gravity well. Your fleet can chase them and have full antimatter to use at will. Works better if there is a phase inhibitor to slow them down too, you can be prepared and wait for them on the other side.

I understand that, but why does the infocard on ships that have jumped into a gravity well show in red at the bottom that they have lost 30% & 100% when their actual readings are unaffected?

Just means that they will lose it if they leave before the starbase is destroyed.

This may sound dumb but,

I'm curious, why not 100% antimatter & 100% shields

instead of 100% antimatter & 30% hull?

Losing full shields would be crippling for Advent, as many of their ships have stronger shields than hull. And not too heavy armor either.

Damaging the hull kills ships. Damaging the shields doesn't.

This ability seems to be REALLY powerful. It'd be more dangerous to run from a starbase than to take it on!

Loosung hull hurts, loosing shields does not as they reg pretty fast.
