I need some help, Im looking for some good maps to play on big, small in open, just not sure where eles to look.

What kind (not turtle... they just make the game boring again).

 

However, some of these maps leave massive amounts of open paths to your empire... so Entrenchment or vanilla (1.13)?

Entrenchment maps.  I can never get one right in Galaxy Forge I mean the way I enjoy.

Have you checked under the download section of the SINS website?? There is a link to site full of maps.

The SoaSE map download section needs to be catagorized, cleaned, and moved to another webhost (AND another domain).

 

Just tell me what you want, I'll try to approximate it. (not something really vague like: I want a really fun map - everybody does).

Well, there is an 8 player map (comes with the default sins maps) called grind (it has grind in it's name) and is about the 5th or 6th one. Eithor way, it's a fun and bloddy map to enter. (8players, 25 planets)
