Is it possible to go out-of-sync without a notification?

My girlfriend and I often play co-op vs. the AI on larger maps.  We'll play for hours and beat on 8 computer opponents.  Our computers are side-by-side so we can see each other's screens.

Prior to the latest version we would have situations where I would point out that a very large AI fleet was attacking one of my worlds, and needed help, but she would complain that she couldn't because of the other AI opponent who was close to killing her capital ships.

Looking at my screen, I couldn't see her attacker's ships.  She couldn't see my attacker's ships.  This would happen quite often.  We would end up quitting and reloading, but often the game was out of sync even several saves behind.

We never once got an "out of sync" message of any kind.  We would just keep playing until one of us noticed that things were different for the other person.

We haven't played enough of the latest version to say if this problem still exists, but was the code to indicate that games were out of sync implemented relatively recently?

Thanks!

Most definiately possible.

My friends and I have stopped playing the game because of increased sync issues, both on 1.13 and the pre-release Entrenchment pack. I have not seen any response from Ironclad on the MP sync issue lately. Very dissapointing.

@OP: Yes. Desync messages are not shown in default settings. In Kitkun's link, read the Delta Force paragraph which explains what setting to change so that you do get a notification of a desync as soon as it happens, as well as what to do when it happens.:)

Thank you - I found the following in the paragraph you reference:

"I put a post up asking people to enable “snapshots” and to turn the detail up to 3."

I am still not sure where I should go to do this.  Is it in the game options in-game?

Thanks again!

Whoops, that's what I get for skimming over the paragraph! Sorry. I couldn't find the post Blair was referencing (I know he made one, but it was part of another thread that I lost track of) so try reply #5 in this thread:

It's the same info. :) Your user.setting file that you'll need to edit is in your user path (ingame go to Options > Mods > Show Mod Path but replace \Mods with \Setting). The Checksum folder with the logs is there, as well.

Thanks!  I don't suppose this differs for the Entrenchment Beta, does it?

Doesn't differ for beta but 2.5 has a known sync bug. Today's beta (3.0) should fix it.
