Cannot download Patch with Impulse. Working Offline!!??

Ok, I have not played Sins in many moons.  But I have just reinstalled it, and see that I patches are no longer available for download?  Great....

So, I download and install a program I do not want on my system... Impluse.  I run it... I login, and the status area(bottom left) says:

Logging In...

Retrieving latest Information...

Problem retrieving update data.

 

but it won't let me download the updates.  When I do that pops up a messagebox that says:

"You are currently working in offline mode.  In order to install updates yo must re-connect to the internet and relogon."

 

I am already connected to the internet.  I can email and surf the net....

So, I click the blue orb, and login, and get the same result again... and again...

 

Where can I just download the patches?  This is not rocket science.

I cannot believe that I had to actually shutdown my Antivirus, to get a patch.   But apparently that's what it took!

I hate these extra programs on my computer, that again... I do not want!  Just install a 'simple' update or let me do it myself!  I do not need another Stardock application to advertise and let me browse at all of your other programs that I do not have.

I probaly will not buy another Stardork program if you are going to force me to jump through hoops for a patch.

The only way you're going to get patches and updates for Stardock programs and programs bought through Impulse in the future is through Impulse. So yes, if you buy more Stardock products, you'll be forced to 'jump through hoops' to get them updated.

They don't know how to integrate the update app INTO the game itself.
