Tech Tree Correction

Filling the defense tree

There are still quite a few defensive structures that aren't in the defense tree. Even stranger, many of them are in the civilian tree, which confused me even from day one. Techs for repair bays, phase jump inhibitors, nano weapon jammers, and antimatter rechargers are still in the wrong tree. In fact the only structure of this kind which was correctly moved to defense tree was shield generator.

Easily fixed, right?

Repair bays are a pre-req for TEC repair cruisers; moving them might make showing the dependency complicated.

I think you might be noticing something else that's wrong. The button for the offensive tech tree for TEC is wrong, it shows a civilian structure instead of the right button, a turrent. Likewise, the civilian button displays a turrent instead of the right image of a structure. Otherwise...they're all in the right place...

I see your point, but your mixing up defence and tactical things like antimatter recharger or repair bay are not

always used in defence, now phase jump inhibitors are there because they are not defence, but offence Personally i

beleive they go in offence tree. Nano weapon jammers use nano technology which is one of the areas in vasari empire

tree so it goes in that area.I also noticed you asked a question answer is yes if that was a mistake they would be

easily fixed.

I would agree that phase jump inhibitors should go in the defense tab.  I wouldn't mind seeing the nano jammer in there either.  The repair bays (and the antimatter recharger) should stay where they are.  They aren't purely defensive structures.

I'll grant that some of the tactical structures aren't purely defensive/aren't used defensively, but isn't the civilian tree the LEAST reasonable place to put these structures?

For nano weopon jammer in vasari one tab in civilian is called nanotechnology Which is where sceintists would discover it in real life

Exsample

Sceintists are trying to cure the evil epidemic of germs that make people explode(with nanobots), but they end up finding out how to build nanobots that only destroy weopons not germs>:( . Then they come up with idea to use them in military\o/  good job accidental research:thumbsup:  .

although it would be easier to find in defence it is more related to civilian don't worry you will memorize positioning with enough games.

Hehe don't worry brysoon ... I'm much too addicted to this game not to have memorized locations.

I can see the explanation behind accidentally finding nanojammer research, but, especially considering the widespread use of nanobots in Vasari weaponry (nano-dissassembler, repair cloud, etc ..) it's vastly more logical to say: the Vasari weapons lab has found yet another way to use nanobots militarily.

There are civilian applications too - like nanomedicine. Point being nanotech manifests itself in almost every aspect of Vasari civilization. So they didn't stumble on a nano-jammer tech. It's just another nanotech, and it's completely military/defensive! It should go in the defense tree.

True see your point I understand how it should go in defence, hopefully some developer will do same thing in story and stumble upon this post then move it

And yes it is hard not to get so addicted you memorize positions

To be fair, this may also be a game balance issue between military and civilian reserach stations.  With a military research station, you can be working on both the military and defense tech trees.  Saving some of these for the civilian tech tree keeps its value up.
