Hi - new to the game, few quick questions...

Hi,

I just purchased the game, am installing now, and have a few questions. I had a look through the forums for the info I was after, but came up empty handed, so will ask here.

1. Is there a page with some download links for the patches, or is that through Impulse? I take it 1.13 is the current patch? Is there a guide for the ideal upgrade path?

2. Entrenchment is a patch, expansion, or a mod?

3. Is there a list of the best or must have mods and maps that everyone is using?

4. This is a single player (campaign) mode game, with a multiplayer on line challenge element, like Supreme Commander, right?

Sorry for the newbie questions, I just like to get up and running as quick as I can. I played SupCom for over a year and got heavily into the mods and maps, and know that it can be a huge diversion to playing the basic game.

1. Patches are through Impulse only. 1.13 is the current patch.

2. Entrenchment is an expansion only available through Impulse.

3. Not that I know of. However 7 deadly sins is quite a popular mod.

4. No campaign. Just skirmish and mp.

Skirmish is single player? or 1v1 online?

The SP and MP mode play the same way (you can even take a MP game and play it SP!). Both are ALL modes of skirmish (including 1v1).

The maximum players are 10. That can be all human in MP, human and AI in MP (comp stomp etc...) or all AI apart from you (SP)

Some of the mods are total conversions and others are simply add-on, or graphic enhancement mods, ect. If you go to the mods section in the forums you can find a lot of them just by looking through. If you're into Star Trek I would deffinitely recommend Sacrifice of Angels 2. I haven't done much with other mods but there are plenty of others out there that are well done.
