Does anyone else feel that this starbase could use a little tweaking? the square shape just does not seem to fit. if you really think about it a more rounded shape would look better. I hope the devs re-examine this one and change it.
I mean sure it's a box but making it curvy would not fit with the TEC architecture in this game. Be out of place.
The only thing that needs to be tweaked with SB's are the addition of flak cannons. It's only logical. Maybe not the most powerful flak cannons in the world but something. There is plenty of room to add them wherever.
It is also my favorite in looks.
Plus the weapons effects, even more now with the multi-targeting lasers is the best.
I still think they still need a little more range, plus they should be able to deploy mini shield regenerators, because right now they go down to easy in neutral wells. I don't believe however that they should be able to deploy them in enemy wells.
Btw does anyone know if the cobalt antimatter thingy has a graphic to show that the ability is being used?
it's my favourite too. guess taste just differs.
a little more range would be nice, I agree. not too much though. I'm still not sure how far the 'long range weapons' of the third upgrade really are.
Graphics! We're talking about graphics here, not mechanics!
The TEC starbase is graphically my favorite. Massive, practical, and combat animations rock. The Advent looks dinky and you can hardly ever tell it's shooting at something.
The Vasari just looks like a tulip eating a spider. Om nom nom.
edit: A spider that shoots souls, a la Warcraft 3, undead guard tower.
The rounded shape you are asking for is Advent-ish. The square looks cool, and it also "fits" TEC.
TEC Starbase looks awesome. So does Advent. And the Vasari base looks like a big ball with tentacles. (The ball could've been a little smaller)
I agree that the tec base must not be rund. But the current design looks clumsy. I would prefer a pentagonal or hexagonal shape. Especially if the starbase is revolving(Im still not sure if they are supposed to, because they always get "stuck" after a few minutes...)
I like the looks of the TEC best but I like the Vasari best for game play.
you know, I'm not normally picky, but if you spell them with capital letters and such, take the hint that they are called TEC (Trader Emergency Coalition I think) and not TECH. otherwise, yeah, took for looks, vasari maybe the meanest to play.
LOL my bad i was not even aware i was adding H to the end. I am no spelling wizard but i do try to get it right. As an example of how bad i am i passed a total of one spelling test in grade 6. (There is no K in nife and no one will ever convince me otherwise stupid silent letters)
PS Going to check my few posts for errors an fix them. Ok gone back to Aug 5, 2006 01:34 and I dont see any more errors at least the obvious ones like TECH in my replies.

Yeah I like the TEC SB the best... Though the Vasari one had a pretty cool WOW factor the first time I saw a pic of it on here. 
Advent could use some work. it's so... PLAIN! Maybe if it was a bigger ring with four or five of the pylons coming off of that...
ok, yes.... the startrek base would have been awesome. But honestly I see many similarities.
Square I think is the way of the "TEC"... like when I think "TEC" I think of very structured and square shapes. So their base fits them perfectly.
The summary every TEC architect has given of his designs.
I thinkt he TEC starbase is fine. It actually looks fortified with lot of armor, and the square on top where the fighters dock is pretty sweet.
