beside minidumps, sync errors etc..

how about balancing the game around more on an epic scale not only around 30-1h rush games

 

ever played a game lasting longer then 3hours ? ever seen the vasari defense and offense abilities on that time of a game ? with multiple kosturas up and every planet owned with at least one phasegate ?

 

if u cant rush a vasari its basically "GG" and thats kinda boring late game is the most unbalanced RTS i've ever seen..

 

as vasari u just have to wait till some one attacks you while u beginn to fire kosturas on some of your opponents planets

and send a small suicide?? fleet there to totally annihilate his eco

while u can defend every of your planets mostly at the same time with an endless web of phasegates

the other two empires have to jump betwen every planet they have and until they arive at their homeplanet its allready GONE and inhabited by uglyvoicevasaricreeps a phase gate to your ONCE home is allready constructed and you r fighting a multiple fronts war on an enemy who can send his fleets around in a second...

 

its like PIKEMAN vs Modern Infantry + PARATROOPERS

until u get to the battle .. the battle is allready lost

 

so give all races phasegates ! or balance it in any other form but this isnt even allowed to be called balanced

How about TEC? Their economy allow you to pump stuff out faster than any other race. Aslo, Novaliths can smash enemy planets to kill their economy, and repair stations/Hoshikos and antimatter bonuses give them endless repair.

I will admit, phase gates are pretty uber. Assuming you are going to lose a few worlds to those tactics, you should invest in spreading your culture somewhat so at least he cannot colonize the (important) planets after he bombs them.

All the races get uber end game tactics. The TEC have pervasive economy, and incursion i think its called. I havent played advent much but I know they have some pretty flashy endgame abilities.

But think about it. pretty much the vasari are the worst race until the endgame. all their ships get the least bang for the buck, their econ is just ok, and their culture spread, and most support ships are not as good as the healing hoshinkos or the advents gaurdian. I will admit though that they can be devestating to fleets trying to leave grav wells, with subvertors and the space eggs ability. But until the advantage of phase gates are out or you have a large planet advantage the vasari are a late game race. once their econ is going TEC can pump out ships almost 3x as fast as vasari, and advent get powerful early/mid game ships like guarduans, carriers and illuminators.

If you play the game well all races have their advantage at some point in the game. It just so happens that the 1000 year old empire has beter technologies than the race who just started creating a military.

so whats the flashy endgame ability for advent ? =)

novalith can easily be countered.. and u dont loose the whole eco on this planet .. tradeports and refinery are still up after a hit

and culture means nothing vs caps and with entrenchment u can send an entire fleet right to the heart of your enemys empire with just one kostura shot...

just take some 2 caps some carriers some siege and you will completly detroy whole clusters of planets while building them up to your new offensive base in the heart of enemy territory

while in the meantime u r still able to hold off enemy attacks at your frontdoor with a big defensive fleet able to change location in the galaxy any minute

so if your enemy goes for the "lost" planets with his fleet you r going to attack with your former defensive fleet

and advent ? the love cannon is absolutly crap.. ok ok i get some culture bonus if i attack this planet so my AM restores a bit faster woohoo big deal!

I think if ships are in the culture of their cannon they get an antimater restore bonus and I heard that they get a 10% bonus to weapons.

But I dont play advent really so I dont know for sure.

The advent culture bonus is +shield mitigation. That + the best culture tree means insane bonus lategame. This is one of the reasons that make advent's ships THE BEST with full upgrades

 

and man - rush + proper tactic = no vassari

no rush but good using of you economic bonuses (TEC) or ship upgrades (advent) give u advantage for late game

Late game Advent Cap ships are likely to have the highest average level also, with the tech that auto levels them for several levels and the ressurection of high level ships.

Also doesn't all the increased culture mean higher yield from owned planets on your border regions, far away from your home planet?

Advent are all about abilities and culture. Their late game research allows the increase of maximum loyalty (which means bonus income) and the Deliverance Engine is not as useless as it may seem: constant culture bombing will decrease enemy income, and even cause them to lose planets, unless the enemy sacrifices logistic slots for broadcast centers, or station their capitals on important planets. Also with the Eyes of the Converted, you can spy enemy territory with it, and knowledge is power. With the Kosturas new ability to make a temporary Phase Stabilizer Node, i think that the Novalith is the weakest superweapon, since it can only one-hit-kill asteroids.

It was never on the tooltip.. it used to be 15%, but was bumped up to 25% for Entrenchment.
