Automatic?

(Or I Know... Another Crazy Idea, But Hey, A Modders Gotta Mod, Right?) :)

Hi,

Well, i know i should try it before i even ask. And i know right from the start that some things can be automated, and some not, just from playing with the game the last six months. And i know some of this can't be done without scripts or something from the Dev side. But i thought i would ask anyway.   :)   <mischevious smile>

I had an idea to automate, pretty much everything. You know, Frigfactory churns out ships on a regular basis, when the values reach a cost level, maybe 5 of each in sequence all through the different models, then back to the beginning again.

Research that picks up when a new combat or non-combat lab is constructed and starts researching the new level opened up.

Have ten or so ships automatically bind into a fleet and then when two or more fleets in the same well, go off planet, to explore, fight, decimate, die... haha, whatever.   :)

Auto upgrades for all the abilities and weapons on a ship.

Auto colonize.    :)

Auto planet exploration and upgrade.

Tactical slots upgraded with a round like the ships, in sequence, 1 or 2 each and then back to the beginning.

Same for Logistics slots.

Perhaps patroling?  You know, a fleet starts on Home/Friendly planet and does a circuit of five adjacent worlds, then back to the Home/Friendly world?

Auto Distress Call, where a friendly fleet that drops into a hostile gravity well and is outnumbered calls a fleet on a nearby world to help?  Like Returning Armada?

Hmmm.....

I probably forgot something, but that's all i can think of now. Any ideas? Thoughts? Flames?  Haha, Whatever?    :)

in my opinion your just lazy if you want the game to play for you while you sit back and watch. construction cant really be automated like you want. although you can use an ability like returning armauta which is enabled when certian research is met. you can also upgrade ships and structures through research (the actual looks of them) you can also now make abilities use resources instead of antimatter. you can also enable weapons through research (on ships). as far as i know, planet research is done via the actual map while the planet(name).entity shows things like planet abilities and whatnot. dont believe you can changwe what you can build on a planet (although it would kick arse if you could).

I like pie. Do you like pie?

In all seriousness though, there's no real reason to have that much automation in Sins. The only thing that might have something going for it is to queue auto-production of a ship so you don't have to babysit resources.

:)  Hi everyone,

Not that i want to be lazy or have things done for me, i was just thinking that it could add a new dimension to the game, i mean, what if i am good, well, lets not say good, lets say interested in the battles!!  And so my production and fleet building is done in the background by the scripts, the AI and i can micro-manage my fleets, or what if i like research and im like you know... researching...   :)   And i dont have to worry that the game goes all to heck if i spend 10 minutes in the research screen and the rest of the game goes on without me.

I know, maybe its not even "Healthy" to have this much automation, but it was a crazy idea, and i thought i would put it out there. One of these days, you just watch!!   :)   I'm gonna get an idea that will really be worth something!!  :)

Haha, well, we will see.   :)

So you're the one responsible for Skynet!
