Where is the Entrenchment Manual?

There is none.

O'really.  I kind of noticed.  But I figure if you are going to release an expansion you would have some info on what the heck would be in that expansion.   Please tell me no one thought about this.  Any one know what the deal is?  Or is there a wiki out there to address this.

Advertising cover the main points. Changelogs cover the rest.

That's disappointing.  I always read or at least glance through the manual before starting a game.  Those here following Entrenchment development on a near daily basis might not see much value in a manual.  However, the more casual SoaSE players would probably like to know more about the additions and changes Entrenchment brings.  A few Entrenchment video clips posted on video game sites are not substitutes for a manual.

I beg to differ Kitkun.  This expansion certainly could use a little manual or FAQ.  For example, how is anyone suppose to know that TEC got a new frigate - the Ogrov, or that any of the races got these new anti-structure ships for that matter.  Or, how is anyone suppose to know there are now mines in the game and this is how they work, etc.

As for advertising, most of it online has been about the TEC exclusively, and the Entrenchment "Feature List" still shows the Subspace Inhibitor, which as far as I understand it is no longer included.

Sure the paper manual that shipped with the game is now woefully out of date, but a small PDF of what people can expect from Entrenchment if they buy it would be great. 

While I do read every change log, it contains a LOT of information the casual player doesn't know what to do with.

Basically, I like the game, I'll download and pay for Entrenchment, but it would be nice to have a nice, up to date description of the major new changes.  Hell, maybe it will get more people to buy it....

Kitkun is just playing mr attitude.  Forget him.  I just can't believe they would release this with out some sort of update guide.

There is an update guide. I'll be putting it out tomorrow most likely. Just been really busy making sure the launch was smooth.

cool, I think a manual or guide or whatever would really be usefully to newcomers. and I like them as well, even though I know my way around by now.

*cough* I think that would be by now. in any case, can we expect a hotfix containing the file ( as far as I could determine the current hotfix didn't contain anything in that range) or will it be more of a post with a file attachment?

thx again and when that is done, really, go get some rest. the entire team has earned it. just look at how small the hotfix list was, pretty smooth launch I'd say. congrats.

Is the updated manual out?

I only found the SINS manual in the C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sins of a Solar Empire also looked in the C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sins of a Solar Empire\Entrenchment for the new manual.

Is there a different location i should look in?

See, thing is, many, probably most, people who buy the expansion, and later on the game with the expansion, are not the sort who hang out on forums.

1. Need manual as soon as possible.

2. Need something more ... I think a video of a commented game by the devs would be good and not at all hard to do. Not even a full game, or a hard game. Just play a game up to the point of building a starbase, deploying mines, other defense structures.

People who buy this game cold deserve more of an introduction than they are getting at the moment. It is too much of a throw 'em into the deep end of the pool to teach 'em how to swim.

Any status on the update guide? Some of us are a bit lost without it!

And to the rest of you CHILL OUT. Blair will have it done as soon as he can. Untill that time go read the change logs. Those will give you a basic overview. If you want more info either wait till Blair is got it up or just ask some nice questions.

Playing the devil's advocate here, don't think anyone in this thread was particularly unchilled Seems like people are just curious when the dev blog will be written up.

I think the manual needs to be more detailed that the first, even Age of Empires II and three and has a better manual than sins

I agree that we should give them this week to get it out, as I'm sure they are busy. Yelling won't do anything.

Would have been nice though (and probably helped financially)  if it was out as soon as the game got out, if not a day earlier.  I still haven't bought the expansion, as I'm waiting for a description of what I'm getting and for all the small errors to work their way out with the next update.
