you'd have to mod the data files, which can be found in the download section, just change the number of bases allowed per planet type and put the files into ur mod directory, go in game activate and bam. though you'll have to wait for the mod enabler to get fixed i dont think it works rite (doesnt work at all for me, i tryed with my own mod)

I have just been toying around with the starbase's and want to know something, can one defend your hole planet, Cause if not then it would kinda be dissapointing!

No one does not have enougth range to covver a whole planet from beign bombed axcept for astroids. How ever with Turrets/Hangers/Mines you can conver the rest. Also when The Auxiliary Gouvernemnt and their counter parts in each race race works the enemy won'T be able to kill the planet until they kill the startbase first. So at that point you could say ti covers a whole planet.
