When I try to connect to ironclad it says I dont have the correct version of the game. I downloaded a free update, but I still cant get on. I installed the program for downloading updates, but did not buy entrenchment.
Am I to understand that I have to purchase Entrenchment to play online?

No. You need to make sure that your current version of Sins is version 1.15.
If it still won't let you on with version 1.15, then I'm not sure what the problem is. Did you just purchase the game and do a fresh install or have you been playing it for a long time (possibly accumulating custom material that might be incompatible with 1.15)?
No, I just purchased it, mostly for the online quality. How do I get version 1.15 and implement it?

I dont see where on impulse. Its a free update right? Do I just download it and put in my game pin number? all the sins stuff on impulse cost a lot.
What version does your game show in the bottom right corner when you start it?

I would love to play this game online. If all I have to do is get an update, it really shouldn't be this complex. Is there something Im missing? Where on Impulse can I find this update?
When you log into impulse, impulse checks your installed games and auto installs the updates. That is in my case at least. Find ver. 1.15 for SoaSE on Impulse. The update is free.
You will have to register your game to Impulse. After you do such, it will tie that game with your account. So when you long on Impulse it will auto check your game and if there is new patch inform you. When it does just click on the big Update button.
