Entrenchment Ship AI
I've been noticing a lot of ships bumping into each other, ships getting surrounded and then murdered because they can't move. Why don't they just go up or down in 3d space? I didn't notice too many collisions in vanilla Sins.
Stardock will be closed for the week starting on Monday, June 29th and we will be returning on Monday, July 6th. We will be monitoring support tickets and forums during this time but expect delays in responses during this time.

As far as i can tell, they still do use the Z axis, but they are probably not as willing to use it...
They do still use it. However OP is correct. The ships tend to ram the living crap out of each other and then sit there whislting pretending it never happened. Nothing is more infuriating than telling a large fleet to change its orders and then BAM......they are all stuck for about a minute.
The new cruisers seem to suffer extensively of this problem, setting them to group jump is guaranteed way to make sure they arrive late.
Come to think of it....LAst night I have about 100 strike craft bash into each other. It took so long for it to correct I almost had to pull my fleet out so it could survive. You could imagine the panic I had.
