what vasari ogrov? the vasari don't have an anti structure ship and as far as I can tell never had. they use normal ships or - preferably - a starbase of their own. second weapons upgrade gives anti-structure attack and thus big boni and a tech gives them faster deployment+ upgrades in enemy wells.

I see now that the Orgov is an Advent super-long-range frigate.

No it isn't. The Ogrov is a TEC anti-structure cruiser. The Advent get the Solanus Adjudicator as their anti-structure cruiser, better known as the Starfish.

wich doesnt have extreme range >.>

vasari just deploy their own starbase in the grav well

the only problem they have is taking over asteroids the gravity well is so small that meteorite strike hits anywhere so when vasari finaly do manage to build a starbaseit'll have low hp, and probably dies of constant meteorite strikes b4 it's upgraded with repair  and has debree to heal itself with "unless it's your own debree....

Are you guys making fun or what, I will anwer in the hopes that this is not a bad joke:

1. VASARI have NO anti-structure cruiser

2. TEC have the OGROV torpedo cruiser

3. Advent have the Solanus Adjudicator

More specifically, the Vasari starbase's second weapon (the first upgrade) deals ANTIMODULE damage. It's intentionally much quicker to upgrade (25 seconds compared to 60 for all other upgrades), and there's a later-game tech that makes the starbase 40% (I think) quicker to deploy in hostile wells.

I completely disagree . Theres no way the upgrade could do that. Its ANTIMODULE isnt really that damaged. Vasari Second weapon upgrade? sure. its slightly quicker Ireckon to deploy in hostile wells , but you have to be fast and create a diversion. Obviously you didnt mentioned the cobalts did you?

I completely disagree

I was stating basic facts about the starbase. There's nothing for you to disagree with since I wasn't writing an opinion.

Yea there is , opinion or not , ANTIMODULE isnt the way forward. I really think its not the intention of Ironclad to do that. But seriously you really need to get your facts right. 40% ? erm no. You shouldnt be so biased when talking about Starbases...except when fighting cobalts.

what on earth are you going on about P5yy?

here's some basic question/answer relaevent to the thread.

Q: TEC have the Ogrov and Advent have the Solanus for anti-module damage, where do the Vasari get it?

A: Its the Disintegrator Weapon Uprgade on the Orkulas Star-Base

Q: How am I supposed to build a starbase in a hostile grav well, they'll shoot it down!?

A: Research the Assault Deployment upgrade in the Fortification tech tree, it makes it build faster.

and yes, thats exactly what Annatar just friggin said! basic facts. you wanna start a debate about what the best way to destroy starbases is, go right ahead, start a new thread about it.

There's two situations when you are Vasari and the other player is ANY race.

1)  You take out the fleet first, ignoring the starbase, and when the enemy fleet is gone, you either attack the starbase outright or use your own SB.

2) The other guy has a massive fleet and SB.  You build however many Kostura cannons you can, and fire all of them at the planet (or you could fire one somewhere else and skip the planet altogether).  Anyway, with about 7 shots, you kill all fleet and structures at the planet as well as any non-upgraded SB.  From there, it should be easy to build your own.  BTW, staggering shots will help keep the SB dormant longer.

And to all you naysayers of option #2, I have done this multiple times in Entrenchment.  Entrenchment allows you to get a crazy econ going, and once that happens, 10-15 Kostura's is not out of the question.  There's only one level of research and so therefore, TEC and Advent won't have time to react.

HAI ALL. SO, WHY DID THEY REMOVE THE VASARI TORPEDO ANTI STRUCTURE SHIP (AKA: THE OGROV STARFISH). THX.
