resetting video optios out side of the game

i was reading this thread:

and decided to follow monks tip in the 1st reply; using windowed mode.

unfortunately this make it far to big for the screen and where as my 3e901 would smart scoll the remaining 168 pixels (giving me access to the ok button) this doesn't happen in windowed mode.

result: i can't change back using the in game settings.

i'm sure theres a file with the setting but wouldn't know where to start.

Depending on your OS the settings file is in the user path:

C:\Users\youruser\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting in Vista

C:\Documents and Settings\..... in XP.

The file you need is user.setting which contains all the options so you can reset windowed mode and change resolution. AppData is a hidden folder by default, so you might need to make sure you have show hidden enabled in Explorer.

managed to solve it with an external monitor.
