serious question regarding new abililities and research

ok guys it would be really helpful if anyone could answer this....i have been looking at the "Buttons_Research_Normal.tga" flie and i noticed that there are several unused icons..that i would  like to use for my abilities but how would i go about using/defining/invoking them....i cant seem to find a file where these icons are defined.....

 

any help would be appreciated.....

The tgas are spliced up into icon references in various .brushes files in the Window folder. I don't remember off the top of my head which brushes file deals with that particular .tga, but it should have a fairly obvious name.

The brushes are in binary and not included in the new forge tools 3.0 download, so you'd have to convert them manually with converdata, just use brushes instead of entity for the command line parameter.

also the details of the researchs are listed in the gameinfo folder under the reasearch_*****  headings if that helps
