After Recently Upgrading my machine i have decided to reinstal SOASE, once the instalation was complete i ran the game and got a black sreen, the only way i could get out of it was to switch users, relog and use task manager, otherwise task manager wouldnt appear.

I read all of the troubleshooting istructions, fiddled with all the user setting combinations, reinstalled sound drivers, installed SP3, Driver is up to date, Reinstalled the game 3 times, stopped all other programs including idle system ones, updated the game, reduced all texture levels, but nothing seems to work.There was no minidump or none that i could view becuse the only way to access desktop was to terminate the SOASE process

Here are my system specs:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

Display Card: ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB

Memory: 2048MB

and i run Windows XP professional.
