New Difficulty Settings

Suggestion

I've read posts of people complaining about actual difficulty levels not beign what they expect. For example, Normal has nerfed AI and Hard has full AI with a resource bonus. What I've though is a new way to setup AI controlled oponents before starting the game.

At the game setup screen, the player now would have three ways to configure the AI.

- Nerfed (unexperienced players) or Full AI.

- Handicap bonus (instead of a fixed and unknown amount of resource bonuses, now it could vary according to the player's desires. It would range from -50% to +100% in 10% increments)

- Aggressor, Researcher, etc...

I find this way of configuring the game not complex at all and much more effective than the actual way. What do you think?

Sounds good to me. But I'd also like a fleet cap option and maybe unit caps or option to remove units.

You mean like configure it they "galactic civilization" way?

Correction: Hard does not come with a resource bonus. Unfair does.

I kinda like it the way it is now. If I wanted more or less of a challenge, I'd start assigning group-teams to the AI.

It sounds like it would fit right in with the next micro-expansion to sins : 3

Though it would sound better if you could configure each AI player individually, I don't know how it would be implemented without making the menu a little cluttered. Maybe submenus could work.

End of LansecAlting's quote

Actually they just need to add one button to the existing two, which is the handicap bonus button. The first one remains the same, and the second one changes to Nerfed or Full AI. And this goes for every AI player (of course Human players could get handicap bonuses if they wanted to).
