Possible to revert back to 1.01? Or, will every update going to do this, kill the mod?

Hey everyone, I know i have read this before somewhere but wondered if it was the same case with the manifest system.  Since I have tried both my favorite mods and neither work any longer(1.01), in fact both lock my computers up with (1.02). Entrenchment being updated is cool obviously, I just wish I could use the version that WORKED before the update so my mods will not lock up my computer when I want to sit down to play.  Particularly if there is a high likelyhood of a lock up.  So, I'll ask again to be certain, is there a work around to allow us to play the version/mods without having to update and screw everything up for update fixes?  Perhaps this is an unreasonable request but I'd like to have the choice of updateing.  I mean, if I want to play the game I played a few hours ago and can not now......how is allowing, well it is silly.... only being able to use ICo or hamachi... bah humbug.

Don't update! as simple as that!

But then you wont be able to use ICO..and will have to revert to Direct IP.

But if its for single play, don't update at all...and voila! problem solved!

As to getting a new V1.1 of entrenchment. I can provide one if need be! Just PM me

Direct IP?  I am not aware of how to do that with Sins.  Have only seen that Hamachi and Ico allow online play but would love to  know more to avoid them and updateing when I'd rather play a game and not be "forced" by the update to wait for the mods to be updated.  However, the problem is now, that Impulse has forced the issue, we updated and I am guessing would have to uninstall and somehow only install 1.01.  Good grief, how could the devs over look something that appears to be a large issue to me with the version of the game in a modable game.  Simply allow me to download the 1.01.  Anyway, if you can enlighten me further it would be greatly appreciated, though my gaming buddies gave up on the game already for the night ....... update screwed that up.  But, I'd like to know in any case because as I have said before, "if one dang version would work, and I could figure how to keep it, I'd never change".   It just blows to have a game set up with friends and it gets shot down due to this kinda oversight.  Took a while just to get everyone to get the game and the mods and the time to play.  Sheesh.  We have all played the game for along time and have become re-interested due to entrenchment and the mods.  But, limited mp and online outlets to play through are a bummer. Then of course, the update killing mods issue is really tiresome.  I am sure more so for the modders.

Wish I had read your post befor attempting the update, when I read one of the stardock post saying the mods would likely work stil, I updated.  HUGE mistake.  All the mods lock our computers up and really put us off playing the game for the rest of the night.  I had 2 maps I had just made to play too.  Ouch.  So, I'll PM you so you can tell me what kind of effort will go into getting v1.01 again.  In fact if direct IP works I will not likely use Ico again,  I just really do not like haveing to play through Age of Empires online, Ico, or anyone else.   Maybe they force the issue because of rankings and ladders and such or maybe for cheating.  I do not care.  I only play my real life friends because I know them, and trust them.  It is really that simple.  Do not care about ladders and such, I just want a game that works and you can connect with your friends without haveing to have only one option to do so.

Sorry for the long reply Shadow, this was just a huge train wreck and caused us all to change plans because of not allowing people to choose when to update.  But thank you for the response and help you've offered.  If I can learn how to avoid this in the future, it wil have been worth the trouble. LOL

LOL! dont worry we all faced it at some point!

Think about us modders that have to rewrite ENTIRE mods because of major updates (V1.14)!!

But its a small price compared to all the advantages we get ;)

Please note that Stardock will not and can not, support updates that have not been installed via Impulse. Sharing game files is a good way to get banned.

What you should do before any update is to Archive the version you have, THEN do the update and if your not happy, Restore the archive you previously made.

Is it possible to change impulse in a way that we upgrade to the level that we wish... in my case, the update have go from 1.12 to 1.16 directly... and i was wishing the 1.15 !!!

i have the sme issue. i just started tryng out mods in the last 2 weeks, and havent had a chance to really play them since i updated to the latest versions of entrenchment and sins. i even tried uninstaling completely and re installing from the CD but that didnt work.  plzzz stardock provide a way for us to download different versions of the game especially for those playing single player with mods
