"Sins of a Solar Empire Entrenchment will not run"

Good Morning All

Can someone please help me, l just download and installed Sins of a Solar Empire Entrenchment. l tried to run it and get a black screen and system just hangs, has anyone experienced this? Has anyone being able to fix this problem!!!!!! Please Help...........my email address is [email protected].

My System spec's 

Duo Core Pentium Processor 8500MHZ

4 Gigabytes of ddr3 Memory

1 terabyte of hard drive

NVida GTX 8800 760MB  

Asus P5E3 Deluxe Motherboard

Windows platform Windows Xp service pack 2

Are you running any idle tasks, say BOINC or Folding@home? In particular, GPU projects from either cause that issue for me; simply disabling them solves my problem.

Hrm. Failing that, I'd try updating everything - drivers, OS, etc. OP says he's 1 service pack behind.
