Curious Question

For such an Insanely good game why is the multiplayer community so small?

Small? We have up to 300 people online at the same time.  You can count on your hand number of other RTS games who have more people online at peak time.  Hell I cant remember how many games I played where you see 4 people online and you were lucky :/

I think you're comparing two different genres.  CoD might have a huge following, but it's an FPS.  We are dealing with an RTS (and a rather long one at that), many people don't have time to put hours+ into games, whereas FPS you can go in and out rather quickly.

On Topic: I think several factors come into play here, not only the time issue, but single-player is so much different than multiplayer that some (like myself included...though I play comp stomps) don't want to try because they believe they will get annihilated in the first hour of the game.

Hope this helps, Airship_Artillery

YES RTS is a different animal.  Most people who play RTS like to play against AI excusively because they will always win :)

You should definitely try out MP! I started playing vs. computers as well, but sooner or later that gets pretty boring because their movements are very predictable. E.g. they always go for starbases, which is plain stupid in most situations. And it's hardly like everyone in MP is a pro...there's still myself around as well :hugme:

or because they don't want to put up with all the stupid bullshit that the dev's never get around to fixing/balancing and that all the pre-pubescent lifeless 12 yr olds love to exploit.

why the hell did they turn halo 3's rocket launcher into an anti-personnel weapon?
