"This is a problem one of my friends has, i am merely trying to help him resolve this as he does not have alot of time being on the forum"

when trying to install Impulse from impulsedriven.com the following error message occurs

"setsdaff has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

i've searched a bit and found a stardock site that suggests it might be associated with .NET

"The "setsdaff" error typically is caused by a broken .NET install. Please make sure your machine is fully up to date via Windows Update and that you have .NET 2.0 installed."

after finding this site wich provides some support in veryfying and perhaps even reinstalling .NET

i've send him a .txt file with some instructions on how to verify his .net installs (copied from that link) and am now waiting for confirmation....

it will probably be the case that he doesnt have .NET framework 2.0 installed,  and that he needs to install those

only thats where i wont be able to help him much further... since im not sure how to reinstall those files, even with the help from the guide on the previous link, so any help on this would be much appreciated.

some more help for another reason it might be giving the error message "setsdaff has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"  would also be much appreciated
