Forum Members in the Credits?

I was really bored the other day, so I decided to re-read the Sins manual. I got to the Credits section, and I was surprised to see, under the "Special Thanks" part, that a bunch of frequent forum contributers are listed (I won't post any names, look for yourself:grin: ) The only reason I can think of for why they are in there is because they were original beta testers. Is that the case? Or is there another way to get in the credits? I'll send you guys at IC a plate of cookies if you list me in the credits:grin:

Oh, crap. Who's in there?

A lot of people, actually. You're there, for instance. So is Shadowhal, Ron Lugge, P5yy, and a whole bunch of other people who's screen names I don't recognize.

Maybe I should've added a smiley face to my post ;)

You should hang around in IRC. You'd recognize eetmorsqrls pretty quickly.

Most of those guys aren't around anymore. Multianna and LordKosc were good people too. Multi kept making high quality beta gameplay vids and was probably responsible for quite a lot of people buying the game :P

Annatar of course! No one even comes close to his karma. Speaking of which, is there even anyone else with over 100 karma?

Or are those people part of stardock but decide not to show off on the forums?

Jim ‘Major Stress‘ Morgan - One of creators of the original star trek mod

Alex ‘Annatar‘ Veltchev - One with the most karma

hmm...kinda makes you wonder

Everyone in the special thanks section was a beta tester :P

You can find beta testers in Stardock game credits going back at least as far as Galactic Civilizations II (and probably further back, but I don't have any of the games loaded right now).  Testers who are exceptionally helpful over the course of the beta are sometimes asked to do extra testing for us to work out harder to find bugs, or provide more detailed feedback.  These testers are sometimes listed in the game credits.

I was a community tester back when Gal Civ 2 was being worked on and got into the credits.  This was months before I even applied for a job here.
