After picking this game up on a whim, I am happy to see it has a thriving mod community.  My expertise is modelling, my Anubis battlemech made it into the NBT Hardcore Mod for Mechwarrior 4, many of my ships can be found in multiple Freelancer mods, most note worthy being North Quadrant Freelancer Mod.  I also know a thing or two about programming and game modding.

So, I am looking foward to modelling and modding for this game.  Hopefully soon I will be able to showcase one of the 6 ideas I have.  Other than that saying hi, and making sure I'm just not a lurker here.

Awsome,

we always need more moddellers.

 

I'm a coder, but also can do a little particel effects.

 

Currently I am working on an awsome mod that adds a playable pirate civilization.

Those look awesome! I am very excited to see what you end up doing with Sins.

And if you ever run into problems, there are a ton of modders who will help you out.

Very impressive models.  It would be a pleasure to have someone of your caliber here, or even part of the 7 DEADLY SINS team.  If you feel like joining us (most of the people here are part of the team), then head over to www.danmangames.com, then go to products and mods.  You will see pics of what we do, and the link to our official forum.

It would be great to have a modeler that can rival Mansh00ter, who is our friendly competitor.  I am quite a fan of his, and you should check out some of his work.  I wish I was half as talented at modeling as he is.

Thanks DanMan for the welcome. I'm not sure if I want to become of a mod team just yet, kinda how I got burned out on Freelancer.  I was the only modeller for the mod group I was with, and it got too demanding.  However, I will give everyone a preview to the ideas in my head for possible mods I'm toying with.

 

  • Space Hauling - Think Space Truckers with weapons, if ya don't know Space Truckers, look it up
  • Babylon 5
  • Farscape
  • Earth and Beyond conversion... I've already made the models, just need to texture and come up with a few extras
  • Cloak and Dagger - Custom using two series of ships I made for Freelancer, but never released, and add 2 more races to fill slot 3 and Pirates
  • Complete Custom - No real name yet, but all new concepts for ships all around

I know, alot to state of doing, I'll be happy doing 2 or 3 of those, with atleast one being one of my 3 customs.  It'll be nice to actually make structures, you could in Freelancer, but they were never fully right.

I think you're thinking of Earth: Above and Beyond.  Earth and Beyond was an online space game by EA.

still, cause I´m no modeller, I would love to see some Hammerheads and the a saratoga modell for sins...

I personally would suggest you start with the 7 Deadly sins mod. It's currently the largest mod around. you may want to take a look at the Sins plus mod and see if you have any idea.

Well, I decided to become part of the 7DS Team.  I'm not sure if I'm allowed to show any of the models yet.  I've completed two, and have another 4 work in progresses.  I can say this though:

1 - Frigate for Pirate Mod

4 - Cap Ships for 7DS directly (Models by Danman, Textures and Mesh by me)

1 - USNC Frigate for Halo people with 7DS
