Is this normal for an Overclocked phenom 940

Hi all,

I recently built a new computer with the following specs:

             - AMD Phenom 2 940 (OC'ed to 3. 61 gHz)

             - Asus M4A79 Deluxe MB

             - 4GB OCZ Reaper Ram (OC'ed to 1100 Mhz)

             - XFX 8800 GT 512 MB video card

             - Windows XP Home (32 bit)

             - 24 inch ACER monitor (set to 1920 x 1080 resolution)

I thought it would be enough to play SINS with no lag. However, when I'm having huge battles (200 + ships), I'm still getting very low frame rates (about 9-12).

Is this normal? Are you guys/gals also experiencing this?

Thanks in advance!

A number of people have experienced slowdown regardless of their system specs. So you're not alone!  I think it's a recognised issue...

Its your video. 8800GT is just not enough for that beast of yours. I had same issues on my old system(3ghz core2duo, 3g of ddr-800). It is fine after upgrade.

why did you buy 4 GB ram with a 32bit OS?

Because DDR2 is stupidly cheap on sale, and you get better performance with 2 dimms than with 3/4.

End of crashmatusow's quote

A couple of reasons as follows:

                  - Like Dan Neely said, DDR2 is stupid cheap.

                  - Applications can use 3.25 GB of the ram.

                  - I've also read that the OS and drivers can take full advantage of the 4 GB of ram.

Thanks,
